My paintings tell stories about who we are, culture, emotions, spirituality, and the experiences we all share as human beings. I use color, texture, and symbols to show where we come from, what shapes us, and how we grow through life. Over the years, I have built a visual style inspired by my Yoruba heritage. Every figure in my painting wear traditional beads to celebrate the beauty, pride, and history of Yoruba culture. The soft cloudy backgrounds in my paintings, inspired by my work Rebirth, stand for new beginnings, hope, and change. My figures have blue skin inspired by the sky and nature. The blue is meant to show our deep connection to nature and the life around us. A zigzag pattern appears throughout my work as my signature symbol. It stands for the journey of life, with its good and bad times, joy and sadness, failure and success. This idea comes from my belief that life is never a straight path. The ups and downs we face help us become stronger. My zigzag pattern is a reminder that pain can lead to purpose, and every challenge can become a step toward growth. Through these symbols, my believe is that my paintings remind people that there is always hope, strength, and a chance for a new beginning.
